Bellefontaine Police pulled over Angela Nicol, 54, of Bellefontaine, on Saturday for a broken license plate light while driving a dark-colored Jeep southbound on Main Street.
Upon contact, Nicol appeared visibly nervous, with shaky hands, and admitted to having a history of arrests and being a recovering drug addict.
After being asked if there were any illegal substances in the vehicle, Nicol denied it.
She was issued a warning for the equipment violation and then asked to exit the vehicle.
During a search, K9 Pyro alerted officers to the presence of narcotics near the driver’s door of the vehicle.
Nicol then admitted to using crack cocaine in the past three days.
A search of the vehicle revealed multiple pieces of suspected crack cocaine on the driver’s seat, which tested positive for the drug.
When Nicol was arrested she admitted to having about a gram of crack cocaine and a crack pipe hidden on her.
Further investigation uncovered additional crack pipes in Nicol’s purse and the vehicle’s center console.
She was transported to the Logan County Jail and booked on drug possession charges.
