A Lakeview woman was arrested Sunday night after deputies say a domestic dispute at a home near West Liberty turned physical and involved a 3-month-old child.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 10:50 p.m. Sunday to a residence in the 100 block of Township Road 191 after a man reported he had been assaulted by Aubrey Kelley.
The man told deputies Kelley had come to the home after drinking alcohol.
An argument began after he told Kelley she should not be drinking because she is on community control.
According to the report, the man asked Kelley to leave the residence.
When she attempted to leave with the 3-month-old child, he told her she was not driving with the infant because he believed she was intoxicated.
He told deputies he picked up the child, and Kelley grabbed him by the throat while attempting to take the infant.
Deputies documented a scratch and dried blood on the man’s neck and photographed the injuries.
The man also reported that Kelley threatened both him and his pregnant wife. He told deputies Kelley called another person and asked them to come to the home and kill him before leaving the property.
A short time later, the man received a text message from Kelley saying goodbye and asking him to tell the child she loved her.
Concerned for Kelley’s safety, he contacted 911.
Deputies later located Kelley at her residence in Lakeview.
According to the report, deputies detected the odor of alcohol, and Kelley admitted the argument was about the child but denied that the incident became physical.
Kelley was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
Deputies also contacted her probation officer in Champaign County, who placed a probation violation hold on her.
The case has been forwarded to the Bellefontaine Municipal Court Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office also made a referral to Logan County Children Services because the incident involved an infant child.
