Bruce and Louise Norris of Rushsylvania were recently honored with the prestigious Albert and Iris Gilbert Humanitarian Award.

The award presentation took place during the Ohio District Convention in Toledo earlier this month.

The annual Albert and Iris Gilbert Humanitarian Award is bestowed upon a Kiwanis member who has demonstrated exceptional humanitarian efforts through both Kiwanis and community service activities.

Mr. and Mrs. Norris have been recognized for their extensive contributions to the Kiwanis Club of Bellefontaine as well as their involvement with several other local organizations, including the Logan County History Center, the Rushsylvania Lions Club, and Mended Hearts.

In addition to the accolade, the Norris couple received a $200 check designated for the charity of their choice.

They chose to direct the funds to Our Daily Bread, a service project with which they are actively involved.

“Bruce and Louise exemplify what we all strive for in service to our community,” remarked Julie Schrader, the president of the Kiwanis Club of Bellefontaine, who nominated the couple for this honor.

The recognition highlights their unwavering dedication to community service and their significant impact on local charitable initiatives.
