Officers from the Washington Township Police Department were on patrol on Township Road 239 near State Route 720. They observed two vehicles parked at a closed business blocking the entrances Wednesday night around 10:00.
Officers made contact with the occupants of the vehicle who were identified as Ronald Shoffner, 32, of Lakeview and Jeannie Heintz, 39, of Russells Point. Officers observed signs of drug abuse and both Shoffner and Heintz were overly nervous.
A consent search was conducted and a methamphetamine pipe was located on Shoffner. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and meth was located inside the vehicle.
Shoffner and Heintz were taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Heintz was charged with possession of drugs.
Shoffner was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
