The Logan County Farmers Market returns this weekend, offering fresh, locally grown produce and other locally produced products.
The market opens Saturday in the parking lot across from the Bellefontaine Post Office at the corner of Detroit and Chillicothe.
It will run through September on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Founded in 1996 by Jan Dawson, Andy Reinhart, and a small group of local growers, the market has grown steadily while keeping its strong community roots.
It has also been recognized as “Best Farmers Market in Ohio” by readers of Ohio Magazine.
Market manager Sandy Scott says this season brings a wide variety of vendors and continued support programs for shoppers.
Customers can pay with cash or check at all booths, with some vendors also accepting credit and debit cards.
Several incentive programs are also available, including SNAP (Ohio EBT), Double Up, WIC, Power of Produce, Going Green, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Opening day will feature a wide range of local vendors.
Shoppers can find fresh products from farms like Maple Lane Farms, Jolly Acres, Jandy’s Farm, and Little Peckers Farm.
Specialty food and other vendors will also be on hand, including Morning Riot, Get Spiced, Cottage Garden, Uniquely Whipped, and Sweet Bites.
Additional offerings include baked goods from Honey Lane Baking Company and The Bread Shed, along with honey products from Skidmore Apiaries.
Handmade and specialty items will also be available from vendors such as Just a Poppin, Daydream Soapery, Blonde Squad Bakery, and After Harvest.
