Logan County Sheriff’s Office recently hosted a Corrections Academy that lasted a little over 3 weeks.
Some of the topics that were covered included:
- Ethics and Professionalism
- Stress and the Corrections Officer
- Fire safety
- Overview of the Criminal Justice System
- Medical overview
- First Aid/CPR
- Basic security duties
- Inmate rights and civil liability
- Handling emergency situations
- Community Diversity & Procedural Justice
- Crisis intervention & suicide prevention
A 70% is required to pass the test.
Officers attending their academy average 90% or above.
This class’s test date is pending.
Van Wert, Auglaize, Mercer, and Logan Counties attended this training.
