Indian Lake High School recently named its Seniors of the Month, Hannah Metzger and Maddux Hall.
Name: Hannah Metzger

School Activities and Awards: Cross Country Regional Qualifier and 2nd team CBC all 4 years, Swim, Track and Field, Musical, Meistersingers, Vocal Jazz, Chorale, NHS, Key Club, BPA National Qualifier in Business Law and Ethics, SADD, CBC Scholar Athlete
If I were principal for a day: I would allow kids to choose whatever classes they want to attend for the day.
Favorite school memory: My favorite memory is winning CBCs and qualifying to regionals my freshman year when we were not supposed to, and knowing that I worked really hard to help my team accomplish our goals.
People who have been an inspiration to me include: All of my past coaches and teachers who have helped make me a better person and Simone Biles because she is an amazing person and gymnast and has achieved so much.
Lately I’ve been reading: The Great Gatsby, Fight Club and The Bell Jar for class, and Harry Potter for the third time on my own. I am also reading the YouVersion Bible app plan called BibleProject/Biblical Storyline in a year.
My advice to parents: Be willing to run around to as many activities as possible, because it doesn’t last for long and the activities really are fun for students.
My biggest regret: I regret not joining Key Club my freshman year.
Next year I will be: Attending an undecided 4-year college and running cross country.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My mother and father
Lately I’ve been reading: The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and the Bible
My advice to parents: Be involved and ask questions about your child’s life and experiences, but allow them to have the appropriate amount of privacy and free time with friends.

Next year I will be: Attending an undecided, four-year college planning to major in Accounting or Finance.
