A man was arrested for OVI Sunday night after deputies reportedly stopped him in Logan County following a crash in Bellefontaine.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were advised around 8:55 p.m. to be on the lookout for a white Ford Mustang that had reportedly struck another vehicle in Bellefontaine and was seen leaving the Love’s Travel Stop.
Deputies found the Mustang near County Road 25 and State Route 47.
After a deputy activated his emergency lights and siren, the driver continued east on State Route 47 before stopping in the eastbound lane.
The driver, Anthony Myers, 53, of Bellefontaine, told deputies he had been drinking.
Myers agreed to perform field sobriety tests but reportedly struggled to maintain his balance during the walk-and-turn and one-leg-stand tests.
During the walk-and-turn, Myers reportedly told deputies he was “too drunk.”
After the testing, Myers was placed under arrest for OVI.
Deputies reported finding two shot glasses in his pocket, and Myers later told deputies he had drunk six or seven beers at two area bars.
Myers requested to speak with an attorney before taking a breath test and ultimately declined the test on the attorney’s advice.
He was placed under an administrative license suspension and released to a sober driver.
Myers was cited for OVI and was scheduled to appear in Bellefontaine Municipal Court later this week.
