Pickup truck lands in ditch along U.S. 68 Tuesday morning

An 18-year-old Tiffin man escaped injury after a one-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on U.S. Route 68 near the intersection of State Route 274.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly after 6:00 a.m. when Troy Shook was driving a 2023 Ford F-150 southbound on U.S. 68.

Troopers say Shook swerved to avoid a deer, lost control of the pickup, traveled into a ditch, and struck a utility pole.

Shook was not injured.

The pickup sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Shook was cited for failure to control.
