Residents of Russells Point are being advised of upcoming hydrant flushing operations scheduled throughout the village from June 8 through June 11.
Village officials say the annual maintenance program is designed to help ensure water quality and maintain the reliability of the community’s water system. During the flushing process, residents may notice temporary discoloration in their water.
If discolored water is observed, officials recommend running cold water from a faucet for several minutes until the water clears.
The village emphasized that the discoloration is temporary and does not pose a health risk.
Officials also stressed that there is no need to boil water during the hydrant flushing period, and the water remains safe to drink.
The Village of Russells Point thanked residents for their patience and understanding while crews complete the important maintenance work.
