Several vehicle accidents were reported Thursday afternoon as slippery road conditions and black ice continued to harass local drivers.

Two reported accidents on US 33 near Lakeview occurred within a country block of each other leaving one driver injured.

A white SUV first slid off US 33.

Black ice is suspected to have put the vehicle in a ditch and narrowly missed some trees.

Shortly afterward, a gray car rear-ended a semi-truck.

Both accidents remain under investigation.

Law Enforcement Officers advise drivers to be careful as low temperatures, blowing wind and loose snow are making roadways extremely slick and unpredictable.
