The Ohio Department of Transportation is reminding motorists to plan ahead as several road construction projects continue throughout Logan County and the surrounding area this summer.
Drivers should expect intermittent lane restrictions on several state routes while crews continue repaving work.
Most of the projects involve daytime lane closures with traffic maintained by flaggers.
Current projects include:
- State Route 235 between State Route 720 and the Hardin County line. The roadway is reduced to one lane intermittently from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through July.
- State Route 274 between the Rushsylvania corporation limits and State Route 273. Intermittent single-lane traffic is in place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through July.
- State Route 366 between State Route 235 and U.S. 33. Expect intermittent lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through July.
- State Route 117 between the Hardin County line and State Route 274. Single-lane traffic with flaggers is expected from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through August.
- State Route 245 between the Mad River, east of West Liberty, and the Champaign County line. Intermittent lane restrictions remain in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through August.
- State Route 287 between State Route 245 and U.S. 33. Drivers can expect daytime lane restrictions through August.
- State Route 638 between U.S. 68 and Township Road 51. Flagging operations will continue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through August.
Meanwhile, work continues on the new roundabout at the intersection of State Route 274 and U.S. 33. State Route 274 remains closed between State Route 235 and State Route 117 until fall.
The posted detour follows State Route 235 to State Route 708 to U.S. 33 to State Route 117.
ODOT urges drivers to slow down, remain alert in work zones, watch for flaggers and construction equipment, and allow extra travel time when traveling through affected areas.
