Bellefontaine High School recently named its Seniors of the Month, Kelsie Snapp and Tanner Ballinger.

Kelsie Snapp is the daughter of Kerry and Lisa Snapp of Bellefontaine.

Future plans: Attend college and study aviation engineering.

School activities and awards: D.A.R.E., French National Honor Society, Honda Academic Awards, Academic Booster Awards, AP Capstone Candidate, Governor’s Scholarship Recipient, Varsity Volleyball, 2x District Finalist Volleyball, Varsity Track, 3x State Finalist Track, All-Ohio Track, and School Records in Shot Put and Discus.

If I were principal for a day: I would have students be the teachers for a short period while the teachers sit and listen to their students.

Favorite school memory: Submitting my final Academic Research Paper to College Board.

People who have been an inspiration to me: My coaches who have always encouraged and challenged me, Jrob (Jim Robinson) for making me the athlete and student I am, and my peers for always making academics a competition, which has only bettered us in our successes.

Lately I’ve been reading: Primary and secondary sources related to AP United States History.

My advice to parents: Be patient with your kids and let them have their own voice. High school and figuring out what’s after is hard; we’re doing our best.

My biggest regret: Not taking as many CCP classes over the summer and fall semesters.

Where I see myself in 5 years: I will have graduated from The Ohio State University with my bachelor’s degree in aviation engineering, where I will be a commercial pilot.

Tanner Ballinger is the son of Todd and Annie Ballinger of Bellefontaine.

Future plans: Work at Honda.

School activities and awards: 2026 Spring Academic Award for Broadcasting and 2024 Spring Academic Award for Adjusted Career.

If I were principal for a day: Rally to have every grade to go out for lunch and not just seniors.

Favorite school memory: Building things in the woodshop and working with Mr. Garver.

People who have been an inspiration to me: Fred Durst and my mom and dad.

My advice to parents: Don’t forget what it’s like to be a kid.

My biggest regret: I wish I had become more social in school sooner.

Where I see myself in 5 years: Working at Honda.
