A Springfield man was cited after a rollover crash in Logan County Saturday evening that sent two people to the hospital.
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to County Road 44 just before 6 p.m. after receiving reports of a single-vehicle crash.
According to the crash report, a 2013 Toyota RAV4 driven by 36-year-old Senel Dorsainvil of Springfield was traveling eastbound when it traveled off the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle hit a drainage tile and a utility pole before continuing into a field and overturning onto its side.
Dorsainvil suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported by Allen Township Fire Department to Union County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
A passenger in the vehicle, 35-year-old Penina Netus of Springfield, was also taken to the hospital by North Lewisburg EMS.
Deputies reported that emergency medical personnel were already treating both occupants when they arrived at the scene.
Investigators later followed up at the hospital but encountered difficulties gathering information because both occupants spoke only French.
According to the report, Dorsainvil was uncooperative with both medical staff and deputies and declined to discuss the crash, even with the assistance of a translator.
Netus, speaking through a translator, told deputies that Dorsainvil was driving the vehicle when it left the roadway but was unable to provide additional details about what caused the crash.
Based on the passenger’s statement and vehicle registration records, deputies identified Dorsainvil as the driver.
He was cited for failure to control.
