Recent Bellefontaine grad Tavien St. Clair received a prestigious national award in Canton Saturday night.
In January, the National High School Football Hall of Fame Foundation Board of Governors named St. Clair the 2025 Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year.
St. Clair was chosen for his exceptional performance, leadership, and impact on the field throughout the ‘24 high school football season.
Known for his powerful arm, precision passing, and poise under pressure, St. Clair captured the attention of football fans and scouts nationwide, securing his place as one of the country’s top prospects.
He is continuing his football career at The Ohio State University.
The 2025 Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year Award honors the most outstanding high school football player of the year, a player who has not only excelled on the field but also displayed leadership, determination, and a commitment to excellence – qualities exemplified by the legendary Marcus Dupree (Dupree was a star tailback at Oklahoma).
St. Clair received his prestigious award from former high school All-American Marcus Dupree himself during the 2025 National High School Football Hall of Fame’s Third Annual Induction Ceremony Saturday night.
The event celebrated the best of high school football, honoring players, coaches, and figures who have made a lasting impact on the sport.
Chairman Lamont “ShowBoat” Robinson shared his excitement for the honor. “Tavien St. Clair has proven himself to be one of the most dynamic quarterbacks to ever grace the high school football stage. His remarkable talent and leadership qualities embody the essence of what this award stands for. We are thrilled to recognize him as the 2025 Player of the Year.”
St. Clair signed with Ohio State in December.
He enrolled at OSU in January.
Last August, St. Clair was named the top overall recruit in the country by Rivals.com.
He was also named a Navy All-American in December.
Tavien’s parents are Marcus and Patricia St. Clair of Bellefontaine.
