Updated: Lakeview man; Grove City woman pass away in three-vehicle accident

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office dispatched deputies and emergency personnel to an accident on US 33 near Township Road 99 involving three vehicles Sunday evening around 7:50.

Edith Mollett, 48 of Grove City, was driving a black Nissan Altima westbound on 33 near Township Road 99 when she attempted to pass a vehicle. She struck Sarah Eagy, 32 of Lewistown, who was eastbound driving a silver Honda Civic, head-on.

Chris Schrecengost, 68 of Marion, was behind Eagy traveling eastbound and struck Eagy after being impacted with Mollett.

Mollett was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Eagy was taken by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital with suspected serious injuries and then transferred to OSU. Eagy is listed in stable condition. Her passenger, Harry Collins, 37 of Lakeview, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Collins was not wearing a seatbelt.

Schrecengost and his passenger, Theresa Schrecengost, did not sustain any apparent injuries.

All vehicles suffered heavy damage.

Indian Lake EMS, Huntsville Fire and EMS, BMRT Squad, and the Multi-County Crash Team assisted on the scene.

Further investigation is pending.
