A two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Urbana has sent four people, including a child, to area hospitals with minor injuries.
Troopers from the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash at approximately 7:25 p.m. at the intersection of East County Line Road and Middle Urbana Road.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2024 Toyota Tacoma driven by Sha Kira Marshall, 23, of Springfield, was traveling west on East County Line Road when it failed to yield at a stop sign. The Toyota entered the intersection and collided with a northbound 2019 Nissan Altima driven by Savannah Taynor, 23, of Springfield.
Following the impact, the Toyota overturned after leaving the roadway and struck a fence. The Nissan also traveled off the roadway and hit a fence.
Marshall and her minor passenger were transported by ambulance to Mercy Health–Urbana Hospital with minor injuries. Marshall was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign and was determined to be at fault for the crash.
Taynor and her passenger were transported by ambulance to Springfield Regional Medical Center, where they were treated for minor injuries.
The intersection remained closed while troopers investigated the crash and reopened shortly after 9:15 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post.
