United Way campaign hits 1 million for 7th year in a row

The annual Live United Awards were held Thursday morning at Green Hills Foundation Hall.

The event recognizes donors and unveils the final number from the annual campaign.

The final number for the 2024 campaign was $1,025,350 making it the 7th straight year Logan County has raised over a million dollars.

Logan County is the smallest county in Ohio with a million-dollar campaign.

Money raised by the United Way is distributed to over 30 agencies and programs in Logan County.

The largest funded agency in 2025 will be Bridges Community Action which receives $100,000 for case management with rent and utility assistance.

Other agencies who will receive funding this year include: Bellefontaine Police Department, Caring Kitchen (for Logan County residents using their facility), Discovery Riders, G.R.A.C.E. feeding students at Riverside schools, Green Hills Community, Universal Home Health & Hospice, Habitat For Humanity, Journey Living Ministries, Lifecare Alliance (Meals-on-Wheels), Logan County Board of DD, Logan County Cancer Society, Logan County Family & Children First Council, Logan County Neighborhood Outreach Center, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Lutheran Community Services, Mary Rutan Health (medication assistance program), Peak of Hope Homeless Shelter, RTC Services (free rides for senior citizens, this program will continue), Second Harvest Food Bank, TCN Behavioral Health, and Warm Clothes for Kids.

The awards portion of the program featured several local businesses and organizations being highlighted for their campaign efforts.

17 campaigns turned in higher numbers than the previous year.

Associate incentives like extra paid time off, t-shirts, special lunch parties, and themed events were instrumental in campaign successes.

The largest campaign is done by NX Automotive Logistics. Their associates, on top of a corporate gift, brought in $204,175.

The Traveling Trophy for a campaign with 100 or more employees went to Marker, Inc. With a 100% corporate match, they tallied $93,500.

Collecting the Traveling Trophy for a campaign with under 100 employees was CenterPoint Energy.  They raised $12,070 with only 7 associates giving them an average of $1,724 per person.
