Monday afternoon, Bellefontaine Police were on patrol when they saw a vehicle roll passed the stop bar of a stop sign.
Officers followed the vehicle and the driver began to pick up speed, then turned to a driveway with no turn signal.
It was discovered that the driver, Joshua Rice of Urbana, was driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Rice mentioned that he had a medical marijuana card, and there was a bowl for smoking marijuana and a THC vape pen in the vehicle.
He also admitted that he had smoked earlier in the day.
When searching the vehicle, officers found a glass bowl, a THC pen, and an expired medical marijuana card.
Officers performed several field sobriety tests on Rice, and he failed.
He was arrested and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department where he refused a urine test.
Rice was released from the police department with a mandatory court appearance.
He was charged with Drug Paraphernalia, Driving Under Suspension, OVI, and a Stop Bar Violation.
