A large group of volunteers came together Wednesday morning to give downtown Bellefontaine a fresh start as part of the 4th Annual Downtown Bellefontaine Spring Cleaning, held in celebration of Earth Day.

Each year, community members take time to spruce up the downtown area following the winter months, helping prepare it for the busy spring and summer seasons.

This year was no different, as volunteers spent the morning picking up litter, tidying sidewalks, and improving the overall appearance of the historic district.

The effort serves as more than just a cleanup — it’s also a chance for residents to connect while taking pride in their hometown.

Organizer, Keyne Strickland, says the annual event highlights the importance of caring for shared spaces and celebrating the community spirit that makes Bellefontaine special.
