According to the Bellefontaine Water Department:
“If residents experience low water pressure or no water at all, please call the Bellefontaine Water Department at (937) 593-6121 and leave your name, address, phone number, and a brief description of your concern. As a precaution, customers who lose water service or experience very low water pressure should treat their water as though they are under a boil advisory until further notice. Bring water to a rolling boil for at least three minute’s before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, preparing food, or giving it to pets. Please use extreme caution when traveling through this area and drive slowly through standing water to help keep our crews and the public safe. We appreciate your patience as our crews work to restore service and make repairs as quickly as possible.”

On Monday evening around 5:00 PM, a water main break along South Main Street caused significant flooding near the Tractor Supply Company in the 1600 block of South Main Street in Bellefontaine.
Water quickly covered portions of the roadway and nearby areas, causing flooding for motorists traveling through the area.
Initial reports indicate another utility company may have struck the water main, though officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause.
Crews responded to assess the situation and begin repairs.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area while cleanup and repair efforts were underway.
There are no boil advisories for the area at this time.
