The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports that a West Liberty man was traveling north on Route 68, just south of State Route 274 when he jumped out of his vehicle. He hit his head on the road and sustained serious injuries.
The vehicle continued down 68, traveled into a ditch, and came to rest in a field.
The driver was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital by a private vehicle and was later taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus for a fractured skull as well as a mental check.
Deputies are unsure why he jumped out of his vehicle.
The car suffered minor damage.
