Bellefontaine Middle School held its annual spelling bee Wednesday afternoon.

30 students in grades 6-8 competed in the bee, which was held in the library.

In the 16th round, seventh-grader Caden Yoder correctly spelled “undine” to become the champion.

Classmate Sloan Stolly was runner-up.

Both students have qualified for the Logan County Spelling Bee at the Holland Theatre on January 17th at 6 p.m.

Yoder will also take an online spelling and vocabulary test in January to advance toward the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Yoder is the son of Colin & Carrie Yoder.

Stolly is the daughter of Josh & Whitney Stolly.

Lindy Martin was the moderator at BMS.

Angie Horvath and Julie Kurtz were the judges.

Earlier this week, Eva Wilson won the spelling bee at Bellefontaine Intermediate School.
