Bellefontaine’s High School boys wrestling team competed in the two-day, 32-team J.C. Gorman Invitational on Friday & Saturday at Mansfield Senior High School.
Senior 138-pounder Zane Tevis led the Chiefs by going 3-2 on the weekend.
He was one win shy of placing in the top eight.
Tevis recorded two pins and a decision while falling 6-0 in his final match.
Others recording wins for Bellefontaine were Jeffery Smith (120), Ricky Smiley (132), Parker Knox (175), and Julius Butler (215).
Bellefontaine hosts Indian Lake on Wednesday for a program dual, which includes youth, middle school, and high school for both boys and girls.
“It was a tough weekend and we certainly would have liked to come back with some better results,” said BHS head coach Aaron LaBatt. “Part of going to the Gorman was to experience a big meet and test ourselves against high-quality competition.
