Amanda Overboard perform during appearance on The Night Mix 12-15-08
Amanda Overboard appeared on the Night Mix Monday Night to promote a show they are to perform on New Year’s Eve. The band features lead singer Amanda Stevens, Dan Snodgrass on guitar, John Taulbee on bass and Dan Hess on drums.
The group discussed the addition of Dan Snodgrass after former guitarist Guy Stevens left the group. AO took a break but decided to reunite with former drummer Dan Hess coming back to play the upcoming show on New Years Eve. Video inside

 Amanda Overboard will be on the Night Mix Monday night at 8:00. AO was last on the show for the Beach Spectacular in July. They also opened for The Danger Brothers. There have been a few lineup changes so we will discuss that. There will also be live performances and we will talk about their New Years Eve show.

Dani Lump
Riverside junior Dani Lump, 16, was the winner of Outreach Idol, put on by the Chippewa Neighborhood Outreach Center in Lakeview. The singing contest was similar to the hit tv show American Idol. Sixteen contestants competed overall.
Lump defeated Evie Borba heads up last Friday to earn the title. Lump won a limo ride with five of her friends to Bennedetti Photography for a photo shoot and then a live interview on WPKO on the Night Mix.

Chippewa Neighborhood Outreach Center
The Chippewa Neighborhood Outreach Center is searching for the next big thing, in their own neighborhood. The Outreach Center is conducting Outreach Idol, a competition using a similar format used on Fox’s singing talent show American Idol. The first round began Friday, November the fourteenth at the Indian Lake Moose Lodge. Sixteen teen and pre-teen hopefuls all sang their choice of song. By judges and audience choice, six finalists advanced to the final show Friday, November 21 at the Indian lake Moose Lodge.

 The Night Mix was out and about this year handing out candy to the trick or Treaters of Logan County on Beggar’s Night, which was Thursday, October 30th. Host Ken Keller was dressed up as Santa and naturally his wife Elaine went as Mrs. Claus. The Mix on the Move van park at the corner of Huron and Erie avenue in the Lake Edition in Bellefontaine. From 6:00pm-7:30pm WPKO played “Mummy Music”, a collection of Halloween or spooky themed music. Some of the songs featured were Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon, Nightmare on My Street by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and Thriller by Michael Jackson. Thanks to Jill Stolly and It Was A Very Good Year for donating the costumes.
