The Logan County Community Improvement Corporation gathered Thursday afternoon for its annual meeting, providing an update on local economic development efforts at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.
The meeting was led by Ben Vollrath, who emphasized the ongoing importance of strengthening economic growth throughout Logan County.
Vollrath discussed current initiatives and the need to continue building partnerships that support local businesses, workforce development, and long-term community success.

Representatives from JobsOhio and One Columbus were also on hand to provide updates on their programs and the support they offer Logan County through referrals and regional collaboration.


JobsOhio is a private, nonprofit organization that serves as the state’s lead economic development entity.
It works to attract new businesses to Ohio, help existing companies expand, and promote job creation across the state.
JobsOhio also partners with regional organizations like One Columbus and local development groups to provide incentives, site selection assistance, and workforce support for business investment projects.
One Columbus is the economic development organization for the 11-county Columbus Region.
It works to attract new businesses to the area, support existing employers, and promote job growth and investment across Central Ohio.
The organization partners with local economic development groups to help communities compete for business expansions and site selection projects.


Drew Cooper, senior managing director of external affairs for JobsOhio, attended the meeting, along with Deb Scherer and Jonas Peterson, who represented One Columbus.
Leaders in attendance also reviewed the organization’s minutes and financial reports, which were made available during the meeting.
As part of annual business, the board of directors was reappointed.
Rick Gildow will serve as chair, Jack Reser as vice chair, Elizabeth Long as secretary, and Ben Vollrath as treasurer.

Students from the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s Culinary Program provided the meal for the meeting.
The annual meeting was an opportunity for community and business leaders to stay aligned on priorities and collaborate on strategies to keep Logan County moving forward economically and get updates about upcoming projects.
