A Bryan woman has died as a result of injuries sustained in a serious three-vehicle crash that occurred last week in the village of Huntsville, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

37-year-old Ashley M. Thomas succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, June 7th, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

The crash, which took place on the morning of June 4, remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marysville Post.

According to investigators, the crash occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. on State Route 117, just north of the intersection with County Road 222.

A preliminary report revealed that a 2023 Volkswagen Taos, driven by Ephantus Osoro, 33, of Chillicothe, was traveling southbound behind a Tesla Model 3, operated by Taylor Stanchin, 28, of Leo, Indiana.

Troopers say Osoro failed to maintain an assured clear distance and struck the rear of the Tesla.

The impact caused Osoro to veer left of center and collide head-on with a 2024 Kia Soul driven by Thomas, who was traveling northbound on State Route 117.

Stanchin was not injured in the crash.

Osoro was flown by MedFlight to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with serious injuries.

Thomas was initially transported to Mary Rutan Health by ground ambulance before being airlifted to Grant Medical Center.
