A two-vehicle crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle left a Bellefontaine teen seriously injured Thursday evening.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on County Road 1.
A 2015 Subaru Forester, driven by 17-year-old Casey Boyer of West Liberty, was traveling northbound when he attempted to pass a tractor that was partially in the opposing lane.
During the passing attempt, a 2003 Honda motorcycle operated by 16-year-old Myles Sellars of Bellefontaine, who was traveling in the opposite direction, struck Boyer’s driver’s side.
Sellars was thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the impact.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was transported by Macochee EMS to Union County Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Boyer was not injured and was cited for improper overtaking and passing.
There is no update on Sellars condition at the time of this article.
