According to reports from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, a crash occurred at approximately 1:46 p.m. when a 2021 Toyota Camry, operated by John Spradlin, 74, of Dublin, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 33.
A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by John Tapp, 69, of Bellefontaine, was southbound on County Road 57 when he reportedly failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck the passenger side of the Camry.
After the impact, the Silverado continued off the roadway and into a ditch.
The Camry came to rest on County Road 57.
BMRT EMS took Tapp to Lima Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
His passenger, Ted Cornelison, 54, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital with possible injuries.
Indian Lake EMS transported Spradlin to Lima Memorial Hospital with suspected minor injuries.
His passenger, Cheryl Spradlin, 77, of Dublin, was also taken to Lima Memorial by Huntsville EMS with suspected serious injuries.
Authorities say Tapp was cited for failure to yield.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
The roadway remained closed for approximately an hour and reopened around 3:00 p.m.

A serious injury accident shut down eastbound traffic on U.S. Route 33 at the intersection of County Road 57 on Thursday afternoon shortly after 1:30 p.m., prompting a large emergency response and reports of multiple injuries.
According to early reports from the scene, two vehicles were involved in the crash.
The crash was handled by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Indian Lake EMS, Bellefontaine EMS, BMRT Ambulance District, and Huntsville Fire transported four patients in total.
Three patients were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital, while one patient was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital.
One patient is reported to be elderly and was experiencing chest pains.
A cat was also located inside one of the vehicles and is now in the custody of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation, and more details are expected to be released as they become available.
