The Urbana Lions Club met today to learn more about how local organizations assist individuals with disabilities.
Jeff Coaty, the Community education and outreach director for Champaign and Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities, spoke at the meeting. He explained to members the impact his organization has on the lives of those born with developmental disabilities.
He explained the services offered to individuals with disabilities starting from birth through adolescence and into adulthood.
He said success for his organization is defined by providing resources to individuals with disabilities that help make their lives easier by eliminating barriers as much as possible.
