21st Annual Thanksgiving Love Meal Offered

Tradition, it’s what drives Sharon Waldon and her crew to continue to serve over 700 meals to the community every Thanksgiving.

A labor of love that takes weeks (maybe even months) results in the people of Logan County not only having their bellies filled but even more importantly, their souls happy.

The 21st Annual Love Dinner will be served at the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine on Thanksgiving Day.

The meal will be served from Noon to 3:00 p.m. at the church, located at 201 North Main Street in Bellefontaine, and will offer in-person dining and deliveries to Logan County residents only.

The church will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal, featuring turkey, stuffing, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, coleslaw, and rolls.

In addition, different pies will be offered for dessert.

There is no charge for the meal, but donations will be gladly accepted.

The entire meal is cooked by volunteers at the church and is made from scratch.

All of the food is donated by members of the church and the community.

Last year, over 80 individuals volunteered in one manner or another, and help will never be turned away.

This year, Walden said, more volunteers are needed.

If you would like to help serve, deliver meals, or clean up, please call the church office at (937) 592-9651.

Pastor Joe Ziraldo and Waldon run down the event details:

If you need the meal delivered you are asked to call the church office from 10 AM to 2 PM and speak with the secretary.

Please do not leave a message, rather try to call again if no one answers.

The church office phone number is (937) 592-9651.
