Accident at North Main McDonald’s leads to OVI arrest

A Bellefontaine man was arrested for OVI after an accident occurred in the North Main McDonald’s drive-thru Saturday morning just after 9 o’clock.

Bellefontaine Police responded to the scene and spoke with the three drivers and told them to gather their insurance information.

Two of the drivers immediately produced their information, while the third driver, Garrett Rose, 31, struggled to find his.

Officers observed signs of impairment on Rose as he was searching for his information.

Rose was asked when the last time he had anything to drink and he responded by saying his last drink was at 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

Rose consented to field sobriety tests and failed.

He was placed under arrest for OVI and transported to the police station where he blew a .276. The legal limit in Ohio is a .08. Rose was just over three times the legal limit.

Rose was cited for two counts of OVI and failure to control.

He was released to his mother.

All three vehicles suffered moderate damage.

No one was injured in the accident.
