A two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a car Monday evening is being linked to a possible road rage incident, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
Just before 5:30 PM, deputies responded to County Road 10 for a crash involving a 2017 Indian motorcycle and a 2015 Honda Accord.
Investigators say the motorcycle, driven by 79-year-old Willis Cisco of Bellefontaine, was traveling westbound behind a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Frederick Henault of Rushsylvania when the crash occurred.
According to the report, Henault braked, and Cisco failed to maintain an assured clear distance, hitting the rear of the vehicle.
Deputies also noted the incident may have stemmed from a road rage situation.
The report states Cisco believed Henault passed him unsafely in a curve, after which Cisco allegedly sped up to 70–75 mph to catch the vehicle.
Cisco reportedly attempted to pass Henault, who denied blocking the maneuver.
Cisco stated Henault later braked in front of him, while Henault said he did slow down but did not “slam” on his brakes.
Deputies determined the crash occurred after Cisco continued aggressive driving behavior and failed to maintain a safe following distance.
He was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
