The Russells Point and Chippewa Outreach Centers celebrated the back-to-school season with a bang!
Recently, these community hubs hosted two highly successful events that drew hundreds of families for an afternoon of fun and festivities.
Backpacks & School Supplies:
A total of 215 backpacks, filled with essential school supplies, were distributed to enthusiastic students. This generous giveaway ensures that children are well-prepared for the upcoming school year.
Family Fun Extravaganza:
The events featured a range of engaging activities, including a mobile zoo from the Columbus Zoo, where kids had the chance to interact with various animals. Attendees also enjoyed free hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, raffles, and face painting—creating lasting memories for all.
A Community United:
Now in its third year, this annual tradition has been made possible through the Summer Learning and Afterschool Opportunities Grant from the Ohio Department of Education. They extend their sincere gratitude to Indian Lake Schools for partnering with Logan County Children Services’s Chippewa and Russells Point Outreach Centers to bring this grant to fruition and support our community’s children.
Gaga Pit Gets a Final Update:
In addition to the weekend’s festivities, the Gaga Pit at the Chippewa Outreach Center received its final updates. Thanks to Fulkerson Landscaping’s generous donation of time and two loads of river rock, the pit is now free of mud and more accessible for kids. A massive THANK YOU to Fulkerson Landscaping for their dedication and support!
