The Bellefontaine Police Department officially welcomed two new officers on Wednesday afternoon. Police Chief Chris Marlow and Mayor Dave Crissman held a swearing-in ceremony for Maguire Stratton, 21, and Anthony Carothers, 26, both of Bellefontaine.
Stratton, a graduate of West Liberty-Salem High School and Clark State Academy, joins the department with a strong local connection.
Carothers, a graduate of Bellefontaine High School and Clark State Academy, recently completed his service in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.
Mayor Crissman administered the oath of office to both officers during the ceremony, expressing excitement about their contributions to the department and the community.
The Bellefontaine Police Department is confident that Stratton and Carothers will bring valuable skills and dedication to their new roles as law enforcement officers.
With the addition of these two officers, the Bellefontaine Police Department is just one person away from being fully staffed.
