A 27-year-old Bellefontaine woman was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence after police responded to a report of reckless driving.
Officers were called shortly before 7:00 PM to the area of South Main Street after receiving a complaint about a vehicle being driven erratically.
Police spotted a gray Honda Accord traveling north on South Main Street near Iron Avenue.
According to the report, the vehicle was traveling below the posted speed limit and weaving within its lane.
The driver, Kallie Beech, of Bellefontaine, told officers she had smoked marijuana earlier in the day.
She also said she had taken several prescription medications about an hour before driving.
Officers reported Beech had slurred speech and pinpoint pupils.
She agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests.
According to the report, she showed multiple clues of impairment during testing.
Based on the officers’ observations and the results of the field sobriety tests, Beech was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence.
She was transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department, where she submitted a urine sample to be sent to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Crime Lab for drug testing.
She was later released from custody and given a mandatory court date.
