Benjamin Logan High School announced their Seniors of the Month for January. Congratulations to Taytum Daniels and Kameron Lockwood.

Taytum is the daughter of Arthur and the late Katie Daniels of Belle Center.

She is the Spanish Club President, Spanish National Honor Society President, National Honor Society Vice President, Student Government Representative, ROC Member, Student Section Co-Leader, CBC Honor Student, and Prom Princess.

If she was the principal for a day, she would put a 1-hour napping period into the schedules.

Her favorite school memory is when Mrs. Davis allowed her art students to have their artworks displayed at the Columbus College of Art and Design and made a whole field trip out of it. We got to go to the Columbus Museum of Art, where Taytum got to see her first Monet, along with visiting the Franklin Park Conservatory.

People who have been an inspiration to Taytum include her mom, dad, Mrs. Trisha Hemmelgarn, Mrs. Kelly Gibson, and Profa Hughes.

Lately, She has been reading The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison, and Don’t Believe Everything You Think by Joseph Nguyen.

Her advice to parents: “You supported me through my ups and downs and I couldn’t be more grateful. You tried hard and did well raising my siblings and me, and that’s all that matters.

Tatum’s biggest regret is not participating in clubs sooner.

Next year Tatum will major in Psychology at either Miami University or The Ohio State University.

Kameron is the son of Mike and Erika Lockwood of West Liberty.

He actively participates in BPA, Quiz Bowl, and Robotics (FTC).

If Kameron were principal for a day he says he has no idea what he would do. “To me, there aren’t any glaring issues I would think to fix, except maybe I’d try to give the Robotics club a little more funding.”

His favorite school memory is a tough choice, but he thinks it would be the time when the robotics team qualified for the State Championship after a very close match in the 2023-2024 school year.

People who have been an inspiration to him include his Robotics coaches (Mrs. Kavanagh and Mr. Smith), Quiz Bowl coach (Mr. Kettler), and parents.

Lately, Kameron has been reading the book “Santana” for his Spanish class.

His advice to parents is having a good, supportive relationship with your kids is key (environment as well). “My parents have always supported and encouraged me in whatever I have chosen and I feel that that has enabled me to do all of these things. Without that, the rest would certainly be harder.”

Kameron’s biggest regret is not taking Spanish sooner.

In college, Kameron plans to study Computer Science.
