The Benjamin Logan Board of Education wrapped up its July meeting Monday night in just 12 minutes, but still approved several items ahead of the new school year.
The meeting also marked the final regular board meeting for retiring Superintendent John Scheu, who is stepping down after leading the district.
One of the biggest announcements was that all Benjamin Logan students will receive free admission to home athletic events during the 2026-2027 school year.
Students will still need to obtain a digital ticket through Hometown Ticketing, and those in sixth grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

The board also accepted several resignations, including:
- Transportation Director Scott Brewer, effective July 17.
- Custodian Deanna Danieu, effective August 3.
- Custodian Chelsea Furer, effective July 30.
- Bus driver Ross Zahner, effective July 31.
All resignations were submitted for personal reasons.

Board members also accepted a $2,500 donation from Citizens Federal Savings and Loan Association to support the district’s Raider Care program.
The board went on to thank Scheu for his service to the district.
Following the regular meeting, the board entered executive session to discuss personnel matters, potential property transactions, pending legal issues, labor negotiations, confidential matters required by law, and security arrangements.
No action was taken during executive session.
