The boil water advisory previously issued for several areas of Bellefontaine has been officially lifted. City residents in the affected zones may now resume normal water use.
The advisory was issued following a repair to a broken water main on Reynolds Avenue, which happened late Sunday night.
This necessary repair caused a depressurization of the water system, affecting sections of the north part of the city.
The affected areas included:
- 1127 North Main to 1640 North Main
- Northview Drive
- Dowell Avenue
- 1673 County Road 9
- Turner Road
- Dushane Road
- Omaha Road
- Shawnee Trace
- Knowlton Road
- Milligan Road
- Whetstone Court
During the advisory, residents in these areas were instructed to boil water for consumption, including drinking, cooking, and brushing their teeth, for at least five minutes. Water samples have been collected and tested, confirming that the water is now safe for regular use.
The City of Bellefontaine apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates residents’ cooperation during the repair process.
