Motorists in Urbana should plan for a temporary road closure on Friday as the city’s Street Department completes asphalt repairs on Boyce Street.

Beginning at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Friday, July 24, Boyce Street will be closed between Carson Avenue and Wood Street while crews perform the repair work.

The closure is expected to remain in place until approximately 3 p.m., when the street is scheduled to reopen to traffic.

No Parking signs have been posted throughout the affected area, and motorists are asked to remove any vehicles from the work zone before construction begins.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time while the repairs are underway. City officials appreciate the public’s patience as crews complete the asphalt improvements.
