The Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred on Wednesday at approximately 7:15 AM.
The crash occurred on State Route 68 and County Road 37 in Logan County.
A 2018 Honda Civic operated by 18-year-old Braden Jenkins of Quincy was traveling northbound on State Route 68.
A 2021 Nissan Murano operated by 51-year-old Wendy Rodenberger of Kenton was traveling southbound on State Route 68.
Mr. Jenkins swerved left to avoid a deer, traveled into the southbound lane, and ultimately struck the deer and collided with Mrs. Rodenberger’s vehicle.
Mr. Jenkins and Mrs. Rodenberger sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and were Careflighted from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital.
This crash remains under investigation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by CareFlight, Bellefontaine Fire and EMS, Huntsville Fire and EMS, Ace’s Towing, and Dad’s Towing.
Mr. Jenkins and Mrs. Rodenberger were properly wearing safety restraints, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected as being factors in this crash.
