According to Bellefontaine’s Chief of Police, Chris Marlow, their annual K9 Chicken Dinner BBQ Fundraiser held recently, raised nearly $8,800.
The Bellefontaine Police Department would like to thank all of those involved in the fundraiser at the Annual Community Safety Event at Southview Park.
That includes the assistance of the Citizens Police Academy, Nelson’s Catering of Indiana, Carol Marlow, and all those gracious enough to purchase a ticket, donate, and or contribute in any fashion.
The final tally showed that with the combined efforts of our support workers at the event, and the supporters within the community, they were able to raise nearly $4,400.
With the assistance of the Women of the Modern Woodman of America and the Modern Woodman “Matching Fund” program, that amount was matched bringing the total to approximately $8,800 for their police K9 unit, Officer Hostetler and K9 Boodik.
These funds will assist with food, medical care, training, equipment, and technology to not only help the canine team be successful but to keep them healthy and safe.
It is due to the determination of no single person and only the community as a whole, that efforts like this payoff for everyone living, playing, and working in the Bellefontaine and Logan County communities.
