West Liberty is buzzing with excitement as the 5th Annual Country Legends Festival approaches, set to take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lions Park. With only two weeks to go, festival-goers are eagerly awaiting a day of top-tier country music and community celebration. Gates open at 2:00 pm.

This year’s lineup promises to deliver a memorable experience, featuring a stellar roster of country stars. Tracy Lawrence headlines the event with a performance at 10 pm, while Diamond Rio takes the stage at 8 pm. Chris Cagle will perform at 6 pm, and Blackhawk will get things started at 4 pm. Collectively, these artists boast eighteen #1 singles, fifty-four Top 10 singles, 15 Grammy nominations, 1 Grammy win, 28 ACM nominations, 4 ACM wins, 22 CMA nominations, and 6 CMA wins.

The Dalton Union Hometown Saloon stage will also be in full swing, spotlighting Ohio-based talent. Kenny Chaffin (Marysville) and Leah Crose (Springfield) will kick off the pre-party from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, with additional performances by Andi Jo Taylor (Toledo), Rick George (Dayton), and Erin Stoll (Lodi) throughout the day. Access to these performances is included with festival admission.

Festival Co-Founder Matt Hull shared his enthusiasm: “In our fifth year, we’ve really perfected how to bring Logan and Champaign Counties a top-notch show. We listen to our attendees’ feedback and carefully select our Saloon Stage artists to ensure we deliver exactly what people want. It’s a day of non-stop, high-quality entertainment.”

A highlight of the festival will be West Liberty resident Holli Eaton performing the National Anthem, followed by a special recognition for local military veterans. The annual charity guitar auction will also return, with this year’s proceeds benefiting Caleb Bostick, a 28-year-old Champaign County resident battling cancer. The auction has previously raised tens of thousands of dollars for local families.

Hull emphasized the event’s community impact: “From supporting local businesses and veterans to aiding non-profits like the Lions Club and helping individuals in need, it’s a magical night of giving back.”

Attendees can look forward to a diverse array of food options from multiple food trucks, featuring BBQ, Americana, Mexican, Asian, pizza, and more. Additionally, festival partners include Bonbright Distributors, BentWater Brewing, and Dalton Union Winery & Brewery, offering a broad selection of beverages.

“If you’ve never been to the Country Legends Festival, make this the year you do,” Hull urged. “It’s a unique, impactful event that people from across the country rave about. We’d love to see more local support and have all our residents experience it.”

Tickets are available in advance on the festival’s website, and general admission tickets will be sold at the gate on the day of the event. New this year, limited onsite camping spots can also be reserved through the festival’s website at www.CLFestival.com.
