Sunday, Russells Point Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of Bristol Circle at approximately 7 PM.
Upon arrival, they were informed by the complainant that his father, David Shamblin, had allegedly pointed a gun at his chest during a heated argument.
Further investigation revealed that Shamblin, who had been consuming alcohol and was reportedly intoxicated, had taken his 19-year-old son’s phone and refused to return it.
Officers attempted to make contact with Shamblin at the residence, and after some time, he exited the home and complied with their requests.
During the search of the premises, officers discovered a firearm and ammunition hidden under a nightstand in the house.
After consulting with the prosecutor’s office, Shamblin, a convicted felon, was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.
He faces multiple charges, including aggravated robbery, possession of a weapon under disability, and domestic violence.
In addition, officers located the son’s phone concealed under clothing in a bedroom.
