Mason Diener, 28, of Huntsville, was arrested Saturday night after a Logan County Sheriff’s deputy saw him driving recklessly near Huntsville.
According to reports from the sheriff’s office, a deputy saw Diener’s vehicle around 9:50 p.m. traveling north on County Road 130 after turning from County Road 37.
The deputy reported the vehicle was traveling approximately 70 miles per hour and crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, nearly colliding with an oncoming vehicle near the U.S. 33 ramps.
A traffic stop was initiated near Lima Street and Township Road 221 in Huntsville.
Deputies reported that Diener showed several signs of impairment.
Diener admitted to consuming one beer and agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed.
He was placed under arrest, and while being detained, deputies reported that Diener became disruptive, yelling and banging inside the patrol vehicle.
After being transported to the Logan County Jail, Diener refused to submit to a chemical or breath test.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence.
