A drunk driver was arrested after a traffic stop Wednesday night just before 9 o’clock.
Officers from the Washington Township Police Department were notified about a reckless driver in the area of State Routes 274 and 235.
Authorities spotted and followed behind the vehicle for a short distance and noticed the driver committing a traffic violation.
A traffic stop was initiated and officers identified the driver as Gary Longberry, 71, of Huntsville.
While speaking with Longberry, authorities noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and signs of impairment.
He was asked to exit the vehicle and Longberry was unsteady on his feet.
Longberry failed field sobriety tests.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
At the jail, Longberry refused to provide a breath sample.
He was charged with OVI, OVI refusal, and marked lanes.
