Tuesday, voters within the City of Bellefontaine narrowly approved the income tax for park improvements. The levy unofficially passed 798 votes to 786. That number will be confirmed by the Logan County Board of Elections by the middle of next week. The city will not begin to collect these tax dollars until July 1st, 2024.

The first item of action for the parks will be to implement the plans that they already have in place. Harmon Park will be the first project that residents will see happen along with park restroom updates throughout the city. The city pool will also be replaced, several details will go into that project. It is expected to be updated within the next two to five years and will require lots of input from city residents.

Parks Superintendent Kris Myers talks about more levy details and how this will impact the city:

As spring is upon us, so are spring sports signups. Registration for several activities can be found HERE.
