A Zanesfield woman was arrested Sunday morning following a domestic violence incident involving two victims.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched shortly after 9:00 a.m. to a home on Sandusky Street in Zanesfield after a 911 call was disconnected.

Dispatchers later spoke with Sydney Ladig, 29, who reportedly stated she and a victim had hit each other.

When deputies arrived, the female victim told investigators that an argument that started the night before escalated Sunday morning when Ladig allegedly became upset and attacked her in the kitchen.

The victim reported being struck multiple times in the face in front of Ladig’s four young children.

Deputies found a cut across the victim’s nose and redness on her neck.

The victim also said her glasses had been knocked off and broken during the altercation.

Deputies also spoke with the victim’s husband, who said he entered the kitchen after hearing yelling and saw Ladig striking his wife.

He told deputies he attempted to separate the two when Ladig allegedly turned and struck him multiple times in the head.

Deputies observed a cut on his ear.

Investigators then spoke with Ladig upstairs in the home, where deputies reported two of the children were crying hysterically.

Ladig told deputies that an ongoing argument with the victim over personal issues escalated after she was told to leave the home.

She admitted to hitting the victim and said a physical fight followed.

She also admitted to hitting the victim’s husband after he grabbed her arm while trying to break up the altercation.

Deputies reported Ladig did not appear to have any visible injuries.

After interviewing everyone involved and observing injuries to the victims, deputies determined Ladig was the primary aggressor.

Authorities also learned Ladig was currently on probation through the Bellefontaine Municipal Court.

Her probation officer reportedly placed a probation violation hold on her after the incident.

Ladig was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail on two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence, one misdemeanor count of child endangering, and a probation violation.

Deputies also forwarded the case to Logan County Children’s Services for review.
