Four people have been charged after a vandalism spree in Waynesfield last October that damaged more than 15 properties across the village.
According to the Waynesfield Police Department, vulgar graffiti was spray-painted on buildings, sidewalks, and other property throughout the village in October 2025.
Charged with criminal damaging are 27-year-old Keisha Richardson and 20-year-old Tessa Cox, both formerly of Waynesfield; 20-year-old Caden Gibbs of Belle Center; and 26-year-old Timothy Jenkins of Huntsville.
Police Chief Nathan Motter said the investigation took several months because of the number of places damaged and the amount of evidence officers had to review.
“We are confident the individuals responsible have been identified and will be held accountable,” Motter said.
Police said some of the graffiti has been cleaned up, but damage can still be seen in parts of the village.
Motter said the village has been working to improve the community and keep properties maintained, but incidents like this set those efforts back.
Court dates for the four charged individuals have not yet been scheduled.
