October will be an exciting month at the Holland Theatre, Logan County’s nonprofit, community-supported performing arts venue.
Kicking off the month are Billy Bob Thornton & the Boxmasters on Tuesday, October 1, at 7:30 p.m. Inspired by classic rock giants of the 1960s, the Boxmasters have created a devoted fan base. Thornton, best known for his film roles, considers music his first love. Fran Moran & The Nervous Wrecks open. This event is sponsored by Beasley Architecture & Design.
Next, the Holland and LoCo Art present Artrageous on Sunday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m. This art and music circus features live painting, dance, black lights, audience participation and so much more! Bring the whole family — youth tickets are just $5.
The New Projector Drive on Sunday, October 2, at 2 p.m. is a chance to support the Holland while enjoying a variety of music, drinks, and food from local eateries. A silent auction will feature movie memorabilia from the Holland’s past, while a live auction at intermission features hotel stays, an overnight in Bellefontaine’s The Flats, and a private movie showing at the theater.
Finally, celebrate Halloween with a free showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic The Birds on Thursday, October 31, at 7 p.m. This season’s sponsor is Beasley Architecture & Design, with media sponsorship from the Bellefontaine Examiner and V-Teck Communication, and season support from Honda of America and the Ohio Arts Council.
Tickets are available online at TheHolland.org, by phone at 937-592-9002, or in person at the box office, 127 East Columbus Avenue. Box office hours are Tuesday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 1 to 5 p.m.
